Interior Design Process

Every home tells a story. At Denver Design Group, our role is to bring that story to life – with spaces that reflect not only how you want your home to look, but how you want it to feel.

Design isn’t just about picking finishes or choosing furniture. It’s about understanding the way you live, what matters most to you, and creating beauty that feels both intentional and effortless. That’s where our process begins.

It Starts with Vision: Interior Design Collaboration in Colorado Homes

Every project starts with a conversation.
We listen – really listen – to understand your goals, challenges, and vision. Whether you’re reimagining your kitchen, updating your bath, or tackling a full main floor remodel here in the Denver area, this is where transformation begins. Our interior design process begins with collaboration – helping Denver-area homeowners clarify their goals and translate inspiration into a cohesive, customized design plan.

“The early collaboration stage is where vision and functionality meet. We enjoy exploring how to bring timeless design elements like marble and wood, balanced proportions, and subtle detailing into a space that reflects the client’s personality and endures beyond trends.”

From here, we take your inspiration, wish lists, and priorities and start crafting the roadmap – ensuring your personality drives the design, not trends or templates.

The Design Blueprint: Planning Your Denver Home Remodel

Once the vision is clear, we move into planning and design process development – refining layouts, selecting materials, and creating 3D renderings and mood boards that bring your space to life before the first hammer swings.

We balance beauty and practicality at every step – a hallmark of our full-service interior design approach –  thinking through the details that make life easier: where you drop your keys, how natural light hits a space, how you’ll move through each room.

Bringing the Vision to Life: Real Interior Design Transformation in Littleton

This Littleton interior design project was centered around the bathroom that had “good bones, bad layout.” The clients loved their home’s character but were ready for a primary bath that felt more functional and serene. The original space lacked storage, the tub dominated the room, and the shower felt cramped and closed in.

Our goal? To turn it into a spa-like retreat that balanced classic warmth with a rustic-industrial edge.

“Many homeowners are moving away from large corner tubs that take up space and choosing to invest in larger showers and better storage. In this design, removing the tub allowed us to create a more functional flow and elevate the bathroom’s sense of calm and simplicity without sacrificing luxury.”

By removing the oversized corner tub, we reclaimed valuable square footage, allowing for a larger shower and a show-stopping freestanding tub. Custom knotty alder vanities with a built-in linen tower created symmetry and storage, while neutral tile with hints of blue kept the palette fresh and timeless.

To complete the transformation, we added heated floors, a motorized custom Roman shade, and a fully reimagined custom closet for everyday function.

This Littleton bathroom remodel is one of our favorite examples of how smart space planning and timeless materials can completely transform the way a home feels.

Details That Define

“Our favorite detail from this primary bathroom remodel is the motorized Roman shade. We love how the fabric and subtle pattern adds softness, color and personality to the space, while the automation makes it so easy to use. No need to reach over the tub to adjust it. It’s the perfect blend of beauty and functionality.”

At Denver Design Group, it’s often the smallest details that make the biggest difference.
Tile extending behind the vanity. The perfect stain that ties the wood tones together. The way natural light filters through custom window treatments.

These layers create not just a beautiful room, but a home that feels finished – thoughtful, cohesive, and unmistakably yours.

The Reveal

Seeing our clients experience their new space for the first time is why we do what we do. It’s the joy of walking into a room that finally feels like home – functional, comfortable, and designed around the life you live every day.

“One of the features the client really appreciated is the vanity tower. It maximizes storage while keeping frequently used appliances plugged in and easily accessible, which makes the bathroom feel both organized and highly functional.”

Client Feedback

“Alexis and Kristina were absolute game changers for our extensive remodel. We’ve done several remodels on our own, but this was our first time hiring designers and we’re so glad we did. They have been instrumental in helping us get through a three year remodel (through covid times) that touched every part of our house, including the kitchen, four bathrooms, the basement, laundry room and furnishings. They kept us organized and moving forward even when we were tired of shopping for materials. I couldn’t recommend them more highly, not only for their skill set and design expertise, but also because they are just a pleasure to work with.”
